Databricks Engineering, Built to Last.

Senior, founder-led engineering for Databricks: lakehouse builds, migrations, Unity Catalog, pipelines and cost tuning — planned clearly, reconciled carefully and handed over ready to run.

What’s Included

Everything Around Your Lakehouse.

Whether you are starting fresh, moving off a legacy warehouse or tidying up a platform that grew fast, we cover the whole stack.

Talk Data Platforms
  • Platform Setup & Workspace Design

Workspaces for development, testing and production, with networking, clusters, secrets and permissions set up properly from day one.

  • Unity Catalog & Governance

Catalogs, access control, lineage and audit — including a staged move from the Hive metastore.

  • Migrations to the Lakehouse

From legacy warehouses, Hadoop or on-premise databases to Databricks, moved in planned waves and reconciled against the source.

  • Batch & Streaming Pipelines

Spark and Delta Lake pipelines with tests, scheduling and monitoring, so data arrives on time and stays correct.

  • Performance & Cost Tuning

Right-sized clusters, Photon, better file layout and faster queries — so you pay for work done, not idle compute.

  • Analytics & AI on Your Data

Databricks SQL, Power BI or Tableau dashboards, and AI and ML built on governed, trusted data.

How It Runs

Five Steps, No Surprises.

  1. 01

    Assess

We map your workloads, data sources, jobs and costs, and agree on what success looks like.

    Workload inventory
  2. 02

    Design

Target architecture, catalog and access model, and a plan that moves in safe waves.

    Migration plan
  3. 03

    Build

Pipelines, jobs and infrastructure as code, reviewed and tested as we go.

    Pipelines
  4. 04

    Validate

Row counts, checksums and business totals compared with the source before anything switches over.

    Reconciliation
  5. 05

    Operate

Monitoring, alerts and a runbook your team can use, with ongoing support if you want it.

Why CrewLake

The Way We Work.

  1. 01

    Senior Engineers Only

The people you speak to are the people building your platform — engineers with 8+ years of experience. No hand-off to a junior bench.

  2. 02

    Reconciled, Not Just Moved

Every migration is checked against the source — counts, totals and the reports people rely on.

  3. 03

    Yours to Run

Clean code, documentation and runbooks, so your team can own the platform after we step back.

FAQs

Questions, Answered Plainly.

Something else on your mind?

Ask Us Directly
Are You a Databricks Partner?

No. CrewLake is an independent engineering company. We build on Databricks for our clients, and we are not affiliated with Databricks, Inc.

Can You Move Us From the Hive Metastore to Unity Catalog?

Yes. We map tables, views, permissions and jobs, migrate in stages and validate access before cutting over.

Which Clouds Do You Work With?

AWS, Azure and Google Cloud. Databricks runs on all three, and we work in whichever your company already uses.

Can You Lower Our Databricks Costs?

Often, yes. Most savings come from right-sized clusters, job scheduling, file layout and query fixes. A health check shows where the money goes before we change anything.

Do You Work With Our In-House Data Team?

Yes. We can lead the work, pair with your engineers, or hand over with documentation and runbooks.

Planning a Databricks Project?

Tell us where your platform is today and where it needs to be. You’ll hear back from an engineer — not a sales team.
