Making Application Ownership Easier to Maintain

Ownership and approval workflows, plus background data updates, for an internal application inventory.

Databricks Contract · Internal Application Inventory

The Problem

An internal application inventory needs ownership records that people can find, edit, and review. Bulk updates and slow data writes also need to be handled without losing track of changes.

My Role

On a Databricks contract, I worked with the team on ownership editing, bulk updates, owner lookup, staged approvals, background data writes, retries, and operational logging.

The Approach

  • Make ownership changes explicit and reviewable through staged approval steps.
  • Move data writes to background jobs where appropriate, with retries and logs that help operators investigate failures.
  • Support owner lookup and bulk edits so routine inventory maintenance is easier to carry out.

Project Context
